Schools within Mascoutah CUSD19 are once again celebrating strong academic achievement scores as well as continued student growth at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. The Illinois State Board of Education has released the 2024 Illinois Report Card, which provides a detailed look at student and district performance data from the 2023-24 school year. You can find this information at www.illinoisreportcard.com.
For the 2023-24 School Year, we are proud to announce that Mascoutah schools have earned the following summative designations by ISBE:
- Mascoutah High School = Exemplary
- Mascoutah Middle School = Commendable
- Mascoutah Elementary School = Exemplary
- Scott Elementary School = Exemplary
- Wingate Elementary School = Exemplary
Of important note is that Wingate Elementary made the jump from Commendable in 2023 to Exemplary in 2024. Also, while MMS stayed at the very strong Commendable rating, they showed wonderful increases in student growth, and overall achievement is well above state averages.
In relation to that growth, MSD19 is thrilled to highlight the significant academic progress students have made since the COVID-19 pandemic. While many districts across the state and nation are still recovering from the challenges of remote learning, Mascoutah CUSD 19 has shown remarkable resilience and growth. Since 2020, MSD19 has seen a 9.7% increase in students meeting or exceeding standards on the Math achievement test and a 16.6% increase on the English Language Arts achievement test.
Superintendent Dr. Dave Deets says, “These summative designations are a reflection of what happens when you combine amazing professionals with such a fantastic and supportive school community. And while we are certainly proud of these designations, by no means are we done growing, reflecting, and striving to be better every day for our students and community. We still have work to do, but with the continued collaboration between school, home, and community, I have no doubt we will keep seeing positive results as we strive to engage every child, every day.”
School Board President Matt Stukenberg added, “On behalf of the Board of Education, I want to commend the students, staff, and families of District #19 for these results. It takes dedication at all levels to achieve the success that District #19 has achieved, and it makes me proud that our school system has been one that is able to distinguish itself on so many levels. We celebrate this achievement but will continue to push our students and staff to reach new heights.”
