Illinois Report Cards
A Message from the Superintendent
Dear Mascoutah Learning Community:
The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) releases our annual School Report Card every year on Illinois Report Card. The Report Card shows how well our school is progressing on a wide range of educational goals. We are proud of our students’ growth in reading, math, SAT, and our high school’s graduation rate.
This progress reflects the investments we have made in focusing on student individual needs, recruiting and retaining high quality staff, and collaborating with district stakeholders.
Our teachers, administrators, and staff, in partnership with you, are continuing to focus on elevating programming for college and career readiness, literacy instruction, and our new approach to students learning mathematics.
One component of the School Report Card is the summative designation—a descriptor of how well our school is meeting the needs of all students. This designation is based on eight indicators of academic success and school quality. I am pleased to share that all of our schools are in the top two categories.
These designations and academic indicators appear alongside site-based expenditures—how much money our district spends per student at our school. With these two data points, we have the opportunity to take a closer look at the relationship between financial investments and student outcomes.
We welcome this opportunity to dive into our data and talk about additional improvements and investments we can make to support every student in reaching his or her goals. Our school is strongest when we all work together. Please partner with us by ensuring your child is reading a book that he or she enjoys for at least 25 minutes daily; consistently monitoring your child’s social/emotional and academic progress; and ensuring your child is attending school daily, on time, and ready to learn.
We at Mascoutah CUSD 19 hold high expectations for all students and believe every student can meet our expectations with the right supports. Thank you for your continued partnership to help ensure we provide excellence in learning by Engaging Every Student, Every Day.
Sincerely,
Dr. Dave Deets
Superintendent of Schools
